A neighborhood-based brunch series that facilitates a truer and more nuanced understanding of Birmingham.
"Meet Me!" is a neighborhood-based brunch mixer series that aims to (re)orient people to a truer, more nuanced understanding of Birmingham. Utilizing the assets of our wonderful Parks and Recreation System, guests are invited to some of our most storied neighborhoods and communities. There, they meet new folks, play games, walk away with swag, and hear from Neighborhood Griots about "What's Good in the 'Hood.'"
Recent growth has led to an influx of young professionals who were lured to Birmingham on a promise of diverse experiences yet remain unfamiliar with the city. Meet Me is an opportunity for them to not only learn about but also endear themselves to the Magic City through interactions with Neighborhood Griots.
The result is a more informed and connected cadre of young professionals who are much more likely to stay in Birmingham and invite others to join them. Additionally, it makes their transition into different neighborhoods much smoother because they'll already know people there.
